The Little Saigon Grill 123 Albert Street, unch Mon-Fri and Dinner Fri only, n a little laneway down Albert Street just before the Coffee Club, great value, delicious and very popular for Vietnamese food, there are always queues.

Kabuki Teppanyaki the Stamford Plaza,  Edward Street, lunch: Mon-Fri,  Dinner Mon-Sat, good fun experience, moderately expensive.

The Shingle Inn the City Hall, King George Square, delicious menu and decadent cakes

Hard Coffee 261 Queen Street, in the same block as the main Post Office, breakfast and lunch, great coffee and sandwiches

Sage on Ann 140 Ann StreetLunchThe coffee shop is at the front of the new Wesley Centre in Ann Street next to the Albert Street Uniting Church. It has generous, delicious and reasonably (by our standards) priced sandwiches. They serve other lunch time eats but I have only tried their sandwiches.

The Roll Shop Gresham Lane runs between Adelaide and Queen Streets, lunch, most delicious Vietnamese rolls and salads and very inexpensive.  My favourite is the freshly made crispy pork roll. Lots of other interesting eateries along this lane.

Café Metzo 293 Adelaide St. almost on the corner of Adelaide and Creek, lunch, the best ever steak sandwich at a reasonable price, other good value things, too, take away or a few tables.

Sono Japanese Level 1 Tattersall’s Building Corner of Queen and Edward Sts, very economical and good food.

George’s Paragon Seafood Restaurant 1 Eagle Street. lunch and dinner. If you go before 6.00pm you get two meals for one.
